Ride Contraband.

ONE strap?

ONE buckle?

And this binding rides good?

The answer to all three of those questions is a definitive: YESSSSSSS.

According to some shop heads and the general buzz from riders at the Stratton on-snow demo last January about the Ride contraband binding was that it rode good and felt good. It looks like a grown-up version of the Burton Freestyle Jr.....seriously, one strap, one buckle.

It definitely puts skeptics to the test, because it rides so much better than you think it would. As another rider put it, it has no toe pressure, if you like that sort of thing. All in all, a good binding for an interesting way that technology is moving.

Check it out on Ride's site: RIDE CONTRABAND BINDING

One word to sum it up for sure is, interesting. You'll just have to try it out yourself and see what you think! It really rides so freaking good, we don't think you'll be dissapointed.

Peace!

FYI it doesn't ride that good. My shop guys were popping out the side of it that the toe strap doesn't cover. It mangled my feet so bad I had bruises for a week afterwards. Also any binding that takes the rep, the designer, and the enginer 22 minutes to set up isn't good. This bindings a gimic.

We do agree that it does take some amount of time to set up correctly. From a general standpoint, in our opinion, the binding rides good. Our shop employees that demoed it didn't have any problems. But like so many products out there everyone's experience on them is totally different. As we said in the post, it's "interesting" for sure. I think it's going to be the binding people go to for something quick and convenient. AKA beginners. We all have our own personal preference, and we will say, this binding is not for everyone. But we think there is people out there who will enjoy riding it.

Ride needs to go down one Floor and go talk to K2 about how to design a convience binding.

I see this going the way of the Burton Fusion binding.
